Agero Fosters Associate Recognition and Ramps Up Hiring at Sault Ste. Marie Contact Centre

Agero, Inc., a leading provider of vehicle and driver safety, security and information services, today announced that its Sault Ste. Marie contact centre in Ontario has awarded more than $10,000 to showcase its Associate appreciation.

As part of the site’s summer incentive program, the company granted one award each of $5,000 and $2,000, five awards of $100, and also several iPad and Xbox devices to its Associates.

Agero strongly believes in honoring the importance of Associate recognition and wellness, and has already bestowed more than $50,000 over the past year on giveaways, special events, service awards and the installation of a permanent basketball half-court on the company’s property.

Agero also has an active Associate referral program and plans to present two additional $2,000 awards by the end of this year.

“Our Associates are an integral part of a driver’s roadside assistance experience. We strive to make that experience as positive as possible by leveraging a pay-for-performance philosophy among our Associates with an emphasis on reward and recognition,” said Janice Gibson, site director of human resources at Agero’s Sault Ste. Marie facility. “Our goal is to be an ‘employer of choice’ in Sault Ste. Marie, and to attract the best talent we offer many incentives in addition to the annual recognition program, such as monthly performance bonuses, a comprehensive benefits plan, shift premiums for overtime, and above minimum wage pay.”

Agero’s Sault Ste. Marie site currently employs nearly 500 full and part-time Associates.

With growing customer demand for its high-touch roadside assistance services, the company has hired more than 160 new associates year-to-date, and plans to hire an additional 80 by December.

“I had the privilege of touring Agero’s Sault Ste. Marie contact centre earlier this month, and what struck me during my visit was the company’s commitment to developing its Associates,” said Sault Ste. The Sault Ste. Marie facility is one of five regional Agero contact centres providing roadside assistance services to stranded motorists, protecting more than 75 million drivers throughout North America.

The contact centre deals strictly with incoming calls from vehicle owners, acting on behalf of vehicle manufacturers and insurance providers that offer roadside assistance through Agero as part of their service packages.
