Are you passionate about creating positive change in the community?

Superior Adult Learning (formerly “Program Read”), is seeking volunteers who are interested in serving on its board of directors.

In a news release, Superior Adult Learning said its free services help adult learners learn and use communication, numeracy, interpersonal, digital and life skills to increase their independence and successfully pursue employment, independence and education goals.

The organization is a non-profit, governed by a volunteer board of directors and supported by paid staff and volunteer tutors.

It is an Employment Ontario project funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario.

The board currently meets fives times a year, including an annual general meeting.

"After more than 30 years of service, Superior Adult Learning continues to refresh our services," the release states.

"While we still provide the one-on-one support that we are known for, we have recently developed programs to help seniors learn new digital skills and newcomers and people with diverse abilities learn the 'Skills for Success' they need to secure and maintain employment.

"We will soon be offering workplace services in smaller local businesses and organizations, to help workers improve their skills... This is an exciting time to join our team!"

If you are interested in learning more about the opportunity to serve on our board of directors, send a resume to [email protected].
