Crawford’s Canines – 4 vs. Lafarge – 3

The game of the week was very entertaining, as the winner wasn’t determined until the final period. Scoring first was Crawford’s, when Pam Jurich rifled a point shot passed, Lafarge’s Nancy Dewling. April Syrette and Marisa Pecile each picked up an assist. The teams traded goals in the second period, with Crawford’s scoring at 12:12, 7:26 and 5:33. Lafarge’s first goal of the game came at 10:42, followed by their second at 4:59. Crawford’s goals were scored by Jennifer Mortimore, Lisa Pauloff, and Robyn Bourck. Picking up assists were Jessica Lannigan, Margie Skeluch, Pauloff, and Mortimore. Lafarge’s goals were scored by Angie Sackville and Denise Goldade. Picking up assists were Wendy MacDonald, Jennifer Dacosta and pick up player Patti Lutz. With Crawford’s leading 4-2 going into the third period, Lafarge was determined to win, scoring once more in the third period, which just wasn’t enough to beat out Crawford’s. Lafarge’s third goal was scored by Sackville and was assisted by MacDonald.

Brookfield Power – 0 vs. Fisher-Wavy Concrete -0

In the ‘B’ Division, all teams are close in the standings and any team could win a game at any time and this one was no different. Fisher-wavy a favourite to win in this one was held to a scoreless tie and Brookfield, who showed their power picking up a point in the standings.

Algoma Insurance – 0 vs. Country Way – 2

At 5:51 in the third period, Country Way’s Dawn Secord broke a scoreless tie when she tipped the puck passed Algoma’s net minder, Krystin Libby. Country Way’s second goal came with just 23 seconds left in the game, when pick up player Kelly Cudmore scored to ensure Country Way the win. Picking up assists were Sherry Boston (2) and Lori Swan. Picking up the shut out was pick up goalie, Meredith Agliani.

Ont. Concrete – 0 vs. Eazy Express – 1

The only goal of the game was scored in the second period, when Sabrina Fischer scored for Eazy Express. Francine Floreani picked up the only assist and Karen Armstrong picked up the shut out.

Skip’s Kweok – 3 vs. North to Adventure – 3

Skip’s scored in each period, as North to Adventure seemed to save their scoring for the end. Skip’s goals were scored by Lisa Case and Mona Jones (2). Picking up assists were Sue Sherrard and Danielle Valcheff. North to Adventure’s goals were scored by Debbie Desgagne (2) and Debbie Johnston. Picking up assists were Jane Longo, Betty Buck, Debbie Shubat and pick up player, Adele Nanne.

Brookfield Power – 3 vs. Lafarge – 2

Opening the scoring was Brookfield as they scored at 7:38 in the first period to take an early lead. Just a minute later, Lafarge tied things up scoring one of their own. Brookfield scored first in the third period, but once again Lafarge followed with a goal as well. This time however, Brookfield scored their third goal with less than 3 minutes to play which seemed to just enough time to hold out for a win. Brookfield’s goals were scored by Debbie Beauchamp (2) and Karen Gartshore. Picking up assists were Maddy Kasubek (2), Jennifer Nieson and Karly Masters. Lafarge’s goals were scored by pick up player, Patti Storozuk (2). Wendy MacDonald picked up the only assist.

Sports Gold – 0 vs. BDO Dunwoody – 2

BDO continued their winning streak as goals were scored by Brenda Sayers and Julie Hazelton. Michelle Carter picked up the only assist and goaltender, Mary Jane McCormick picked up the shut out.

BDO Dunwoody – 2 vs. White Oak Paint – 1

The two teams came out strong in the first period, as all three combined goals were scored in that period. Scoring for BDO was Patti Storozuk and Julie Hazelton. Picking up assists were Celia Connolly, Karen Rosebrook and Mallory McCormick. White Oak’s goal was scored by Lorilee Matheson and was assisted by Wendy Basawa and Trish Irvine.

Fisher-Wavy Concrete – 3 vs. Crawford’s Canines – 0

Fisher- Wavy’s goals were scored by Heather O’Toole, Ashley Barton and Kelly Cudmore. Picking up assists were Sandra Pawson, Jenn Blahey, Patti Lutz and Cudmore. Meredith Agliani picked up the shut out for Fisher-Wavy.

Algoma Insurance – 3 vs. Ont. Concrete – 2

Ont. Concrete came out flying in the first period scoring twice to take a 2-0 lead into the the second period. Scoring for Ont. Concrete was Lori Ballstadt and Shelli Ubriaco. Carrie Mancuso picked up an assist. With nothing to lose, Algoma decided to change up their roster, as player, Pam Booth decided to try her hand in net, as goalie Krystin Libby played out, which really seemed to pay off for Algoma. Down by two in the second Algoma was able to tie the game scoring twice to send the teams tied at 2 a piece going into the third period. Algoma’s goals were scored by Libby and Korri Rajala. Rajala also picked up an assist. In the third, it was Algoma’s net minder/ player, Libby who scored the winning goal, her second of the game to pick up the win. Tammy Vince picked an assist.

Brookfield Power – 3 vs. Algoma Insurance – 1

Getting twice on the first period to set the tone, Brookfield never looked back. Algoma scored early in the second period to Brookfield’s lead to one and were looking for more. Brookfield broke up Algoma’s momentum by scoring at the end of the second period which was enough to pick up the win. Brookfield’s goals were scored by Heather Roberts and Debbie Beauchamp (2). Maddy Kasubek picked up the only assist. Algoma’s goal was scored by Pam Booth, unassisted.

Eazy Express – 4 vs. Crawford’s Canines – 4

This was a heated battle as the teams traded goals the whole game and pressured the goaltenders for the winning goal. Eazy Express’ goals were scored by Sarah Fischer (2), Sabrina Fischer, and Christina Popowych. Picking up assists were Sabrina Fischer, Kellie Nelson and pick up player, Jennifer Nieson. Crawford’s goals were scored by Jennifer Mortimore, April Syrette, Pam Jurich, and Christianne Monico. Picking up assists were Mortimore, Marisa Pecile and Jessica Lannigan.

BIG LEAGUE

Misty’s Fifties – 0 vs. Verdi Hall – 1

These two teams battle back and forth, as either team could have picked up the win. The first two periods were scoreless, until mid-way through the third period, when Verdi Hall’s Christine Trivers tipped the puck passed Deanna Boissoneau to give Verdi the win. Lisa Venier and Stephanie Emmi picked up an assist for Verdi and Tasha McClelland picked up the shut out.

Seamless Cylinders – 1 vs. Fewchuk-Palmer – 6

With March Break ending, it seemed that many of Cylinders were still in March Break relaxation mode in Sunday’s game as it reflected on the scoreboard. Seamless Cylinder’s goal was scored by Robyn Bourck and was assisted by Julie Laforce and Laura Podstawka. Fewchuk-Palmer dominated in every aspects of the game and their goals were scored by Lindsay Palmer, Sherry Maguire, Brianne Greco, and pick up players, Joanne Pine (2) and Stephanie Emmi. Picking up assists were Mallory McCormick, Palmer, Maguire and pick up players, Wendy Basawa and Pine.
