White Oak Paint – 1 vs. North to Adventure – 2

In a battle of two of the top teams in the league, both teams came out fighting. North to Adventure opened the scoring with just 40 seconds left to play in the first period, when Debbie Desgagne fired the puck passed White Oak’s pick up goaltender, Nancy Dewling. Trish Evans picked up an assist on the play. White Oak wasn’t going to settle for that, as they scored early in the second period to tie the game a one a piece. White Oak’s goal was scored by Wendy Basawa, and was assisted by Shannon Irwin. Just one minute later, North to Adventure scored again to take the lead and eventually the win. Debbie Johnston scored for North to Adventure, as Irwin picked up her second assist of the game.

Skip’s Kweok – 1 vs. Sports Gold – 2

The teams were evenly matched through the first two periods as the game was scoreless heading into the third period. Sports Gold got on the board first, early in the third period when pick up player, Wendy Basawa scored unassisted. Skip’s tied the game up a few minutes later, when Mona Jones scored an unassisted goal. Sports Gold wasn’t about to give up, about a minute later Laura Kember scored the winning goal to put Sports Gold up 2-1.

Skip’s Kweok – 0 vs. Sports Gold - 3

In this rematch, Sports Gold dominated from beginning to end, not letting Skip’s near their net. Sports gold scored twice in the first period and once in the second to pick up the win. Goal scorers were Wanda Grife, Kim Timmerman and pick up player, Sheila Madahbee. Picking up assists were Jean Feagan and Madahbee. Teri Bonnell picked up the shut out.

Eazy Express – 5 vs. Algoma Insurance – 0

Eazy Express was able to dominate the first period, which made the difference, as Algoma just couldn’t stop Eazy Express’ onslaught scoring four times in the opening period and once again in the second period. Scoring for Eazy Express was Kristie Kernaghen (2), Sarah Fischer, Elena Palazzi, and Kellie Nelson. Picking up assists were Molli Zack (2), Sheree Wright and Fischer. Goaltender, Karen Armstrong picked up the shut out.

North to Adventure – 0 vs. White Oak Paint – 1

In this rematch, the teams battled back and forth in the first two periods, with neither team able to score. White Oak pressured North to Adventure early in the third period, and it paid off, when Elaine Angelic scored to give White Oak the win. Rayanne Headrick picked up the only assist and Kristen Nelson picked up the shut out.

Ont. Concrete – 0 vs. Country Way – 6

Country Way steamrolled the last place Ont. Concrete scoring three times in the first period, twice in the second and once in the third period to take the win. Goal scorers were Michelle Iarusso (2), Kathy Berdux (2), Linda Benedek, and Rhonda Osadczuk. Picking up assists were Sherry Boston (3), Benedek (2), Heidi Haldemann, Laura MacPherson, Laurie Vermette, Osadczuk and Iarusso. Charly Boissoneau picked up the shut out.

Lafarge – 1 vs. Fisher-Wavy Concrete – 1

This was a battle of the ‘B’ Division. The first and third periods were scoreless, as both goals were scored in the second period. Fisher-Wavy scored first, Kelly Cudmore banged the puck passed, Lafarge’s Nancy Dewling. Picking up assists were Jenn Blahey and Heather O’Toole. Near the end of the period, Lafarge tied the game up when Angie Sackville tipped the puck passed Fisher-Wavy’s Meredith Agliani. Wendy MacDonald picked up the lone assist.

BIG LEAGUE

Seamless Cylinders – 4 vs. Verdi Hall – 3

In a battle for top spot, the teams battle right to the end with Seamless Cylinders coming out on top. Cylinders opened the scoring in the first period, when Melissa Holder scored an unassisted goal. Verdi Hall answered back by scoring twice to take the lead. Verdi Hall’s goals were scored by Lisa Venier and Ellen MacDougall. Meredith Agliani and Heather O’Toole picked up assists. With less than a minute to play in the period, Cylinder’s Sharon Buehner scored to tie the game at two heading into the second period. Holder picked up an assist on Buehner’s goal. Verdi Hall continued their scoring in the second, when Agliani fired the puck passed, Cylinder’s net minder, Teri Bonnell. Venier and MacDougall each picked up an assist. Cylinder’s Lorie Springall tied the game up again when she roofed a pass from Laurie Masters, passed Verdi Hall’s Tasha McClelland. The teams continued to battle in the third period, and with less than three minutes to play, Cylinder’s Holder scored her second goal of game to give her team the win. Buehner and Masters each picked up an assist.

Misty’s Fifties – 1 vs. Fewchuk-Palmer – 4

Misty’s got on the scoreboard first and that seemed to be their only bright spot, as Fewchuk-Palmer took control. Misty’s goal was scored by Julie Hodkinson, unassisted. Fewchuk-Palmer scored twice in the first period and once in the second and third periods. Goal scorers were Brianne Greco and pick up players, Lisa Venier (2), and Heather O’Toole. Picking up assists were Sara Caughill, Greco and pick up players, Lori Swan, Wendy Basawa, and Venier.
