Ont. Concrete came out a determination to win, as they always do and their hard work finally paid off, giving them their second win of the season. Goal scorers for Ont. Concrete were Lori Ballstadt and Shelli Ubriaco. Justine Rodgers assisted on both goals. Pick up goaltender, Teri Bonnell picked up the shut out.

Skip’s Kweok – 2 vs. White Oak Paint – 4

The teams battled in the first period, and it wasn’t until the end of the period, that the scoreless tie was broken. White Oak’s Elaine Angelic ripped the puck passed, Skip’s pick up goalie, Karen Armstrong to give her team a 1-0 lead going into the second period. It didn’t take long for Skip’s to tie the game up at one, when Kiley Johnstone netted her first of the season. Lisa Case picked the assist. White Oak wasn’t about to let Skip’s take the lead and scored another one to put up them up by one. Scoring for White Oak was Wendy Basawa, unassisted. Eager for a win, Skip’s scored their second goal as they second period was winding down. Scoring for Skip’s was Case, assisted by Joanne Thiessen. However, White Oak took full control of the game in the third period, score two unanswered goals to give them the win. Goal scorers were Rayanne Headrick and Katie Healey. Assists went to Basawa and Lorilee Matheson.

Country Way – 2 vs. Algoma Insurance – 2

Algoma came out strong in the first period scoring an early goal to give them the lead. Country Way wasn’t going to have it, and scored one just minutes later to end the period tied at one. Algoma’s goal was scored by Monique Bouillon and was assisted by Pam Booth. Country Way’s goal was scored by Michelle Iarusso, and was assisted by Rhonda Osadczuk and Kathy Berdux. It was a scoreless second period, leaving the final outcome to be determined in the third period. Once again, Algoma scored early in the period, with Country Way answering back shortly after to keep the game tied. Algoma’s goal was scored by Mary Ann Scott, unassisted. Country Way’s goal was scored by Osadczuk, and was assisted by Colleen McLean.

Sports Gold – 0 vs. BDO Dunwoody – 2

After losing their first game of the season because of a forfeit, BDO was looking to continue their winning ways and put the pressure on Sports Gold. It was a scoreless first period as the teams played an even game with goaltending being the determining factor. BDO was able to break the scoreless tie mid-way through the second period, when Patti Storozuk fired the puck passed, Sports Gold’s Teri Bonnell. Shelley Slawson picked up the lone assist on the play. It was more of the same in the third period, with pick up player, Lori Vermette scoring for BDO, as Mallory McCormick and Julie Hazelton picking up assists. Mary Jane McCormick picked up the shut out for BDO.

Fisher-Wavy Concrete – 1 vs. Brookfield Power – 2

Brookfield took full control in this game scoring in the first and third periods, but with time running out in the third, Fisher-Wavy battled back to score one of their own to bring Brookfield’s lead down to one. However, Fisher-Wavy’s comeback would not be complete, as the period ended. Fisher-Wavy’s goal was scored by Debbie Agliani, assisted by Jenn Blahey. Brookfield’s goals were scored by Karen Gartshore (2), and were assisted by Eva MacKenna and Maddy Kasubeck.

North to Adventure – 2 vs. Skip’s Kweok – 1

These two teams battled back and forth, exchange goals throughout the game. North to Adventure got on the scoreboard first, scoring their first goal in the first period. Skip’s came back and tie the game up in the second period, until North to Adventure took the lead and the win the third scoring another. North to Adventure’s goals were scored by Debbie Johnston and Jane Longo. Picking up assists were Debbie Shubat (2), Johnston and Longo. Skip’s goal was scored by Lisa Case, assisted by Mona Jones.

Lafarge – 3 vs. Crawford’s Canines – 2

It was a fairly even first period, as Crawford’s scored very early on, to start things off. Scoring for Crawford’s was Lisa Pauloff, assisted by Jennifer Mortimore. Lafarge answered back by scoring twice to take the lead going in to the second period. Scoring for Lafarge was Nicole Beauchamp (2), assisted by Kathleen McLean. Lafarge continued to attack in the second; scoring once more to take a two goal lead into the third period. Scoring for Lafarge was Denise Goldade, unassisted. Crawford’s was determined not lose came back strong in third, but were only able to score once as Lafarge stayed strong to take the win. Crawford’s goal was scored by Lynn Mazzonello, and was assisted by Pam Jurich.

BDO Dunwoody – 2 vs. White Oak Paint – 1

This was a great battle at a couple of the top teams in league battled it out. White Oak scored first just less than two minutes to go in the first period. The second and third period were filled with quick changes, great saves and a couple of goals. BDO was able to score both of their goals with less than a minute left in both the second and third periods to break the tie and take the win. It was a heartbreaker for White Oak, as a tie would have been sufficient if they couldn’t get the win. White Oak’s goal was scored by Katie Healey, assisted by Elaine Angelic. BDO’s goals were scored by Mallory McCormick and Celia Connolly. Picking up the only assist was Patti Storozuk.

Sports Gold – 1 vs. North to Adventure - 2

North to Adventure pretty much dominated every aspect of the game. North to Adventure scored once in the first and once in the third to take the win. Sports Gold tried hard and scored one of their own near the end of the third period. North to Adventure’s goals were scored by Debbie Johnston and Betty Buck. Karen Cosgrave picked up an assist. Sports Gold’s goal was scored by Kim Timmerman, assisted by Chantal Anderson.

BIG LEAGUE

Fewchuk-Palmer – 4 vs. Misty’s Fifties -2

Fewchuk-Palmer dominated Misty’s Fifties scoring at least goal in every period. Fewchuk-Palmer’s goals were scored by Mary Jane McCormick (2) and Sarah Fewchuk (2). Picking up assists were Jen Greco and Fewchuk. Misty’s Fifties goals were scored by pick up players, Meredith Agliani and Stephanie Emmi. The only assist went to Katie Healey.

Verdi Hall – 8 vs. Seamless Cylinders – 1

It was a close first period, with Verdi Hall taking a 2-1 lead into the second period and then they just overwhelmed, the depleted Cylinders’ bench for the rest of the game. Seamless Cylinder’s goal was scored by Patti Lutz and was assisted by pick up player Doreen Shaw. Verdi Hall’s goals were scored by Lisa Venier (2), Meredith Agliani, Wendy Basawa, Stephanie Emmi, Gayle McMullin, Lori Swan and pick up player, Joanne Pine. Picking up assists were Pine (2), Basawa (2), Swan (2), Agliani, Christine Trivers and pick up player, Brianne Greco.
