Brookfield Power – 0 vs. North to Adventure – 2

The first period was filled with action, but neither team was able to score as the defense on both teams weren’t letting anyone near their goaltender. In the second period, North to Adventure’s Megan Holder was able to break the tie and put her team on the scoreboard, giving them the lead going into the third period. Brookfield a few chances to score and tie the game up, but just couldn’t get the puck passed North to Adventure’s Melissa Holder. Kim Bauer was able to score to insure the win for North to Adventure. Picking up assists were Amanda Biagini, Marg Walsh and Debbie Johnston.

Ont. Concrete – 1 vs. Lafarge – 5

It was all Lafarge in this one, as they scored three times in the first period and twice in the third to give them the win. Scoring for Lafarge was Nicole Beauchamp (3), Wendy MacDonald and Angie Sackville. Picking up assists were Jennifer Dacosta, Denise Goldade, Christina Nogalo, and Beauchamp. Ont. Concrete gave it their all, but with many unlucky bounces Ont. Concrete just couldn’t redeem themselves after the first period. Ont. Concrete’s goal came early in the third period, when Shelli Ubriaco scored to break Nancy Dewling’s shutout. Justine Rodgers picked up the assist on Ubriaco’s goal.

Easy Express – 0 vs. Algoma Insurance – 3

Algoma was able to get their first win of the season, as they scored in every period, with 5 of their players picking up a point. Scoring for Algoma was Lisa Rowlinson, Korri Rajala and Julie Laroque. Assists went to Rajala, Lynn Allard and Monique Bouillon. Algoma’s goaltender, Kristyn Libby picked up her first shutout of the season. Easy Express played hard even to the very last minute and their effort was noticed by all.

White Oak Paint – 3 vs. Fisher-Wavy Concrete – 1

White Oak jumped out to an early lead scoring twice in the first period, giving them a 2-0 lead going into the second period. Goal scorers were Wendy Basawa and Katie Healey, and an assist went to Rayanne Headrick. In the second period, it was Fisher-Wavy who was trying to tie things up, but they were able to cut White Oak’s lead to one. Fisher-Wavy’s goal was scored by Jenn Blahey, assisted by Sandra Pawson. It in the third period, White Oak secured the win when Healey scored her second goal of the game, unassisted.

BDO Dunwoody – 3 vs. Country Way – 0

BDO’s winning ways continued, as they won their seventh game of the season and remain the only undefeated team. Mary Jane McCormick picked up the shutout. BDO’s goal scorers were Patti Storozuk, Karen Rosebrook and Diane Pietrzakowski. Assists went to Storozuk and Ainslie Watters.

Skip’s Kweok – 3 vs. Crawford’s Canines – 2

This was an action packed game, as both teams battle back and forth in every period with the teams trading goals. Getting on the scoreboard first was Crawford’s went Lisa Turco scored at 13:56 in the first period. Margie Skulech and Jennifer Mortimore picked up the assists. Skip’s was going to give up that easily, as they scored one of their own with just 30 seconds left in the period. Scoring for Skip’s was Lisa Case, assisted by Danielle Valcheff and Sue Sherrard. Skip’s continued their scoring in the second period when Case scored her second of the game, assisted by Pat Baldassarro. In the third, Skip’s scored again to give them the 3-1 advantage. Scoring Skip’s third goal was scored by Valcheff, assisted by Case and Julia Robertson. Crawford’s battled back scoring with less than five minutes left in the game, but were unable to get the tying goal. Scoring for Crawford’s was Mortimore, assisted by Skulech.

Algoma Insurance – 2 vs. Sports Gold – 1

After picking up their first win of the season, Algoma did it again, picking up their second straight win. Algoma got on the board first scoring at 14:14 in the first period. Scoring for Algoma was Korri Rajala, assisted by Julie Laroque. Less than 3 minutes later, Sports Gold’s Laurie Laudadio scored the equalizer. The assist went to Lyndsay McFadgen. The second period remained scoreless, as both goaltenders made some big saves to keep the game tied. The third period was more of the same, with Algoma scoring earlier, but this time Sports Gold just couldn’t get one passed Algoma’s Kristyn Libby, which gave them the win. Algoma’s goal was scored by pick up player Debbie Johnston, assisted by Pam Booth.
