WEEK 6 Brookfield Power – 0 vs. Easy Express – 3 Brookfield put in a tremendous effort in the game, it just didn’t reflect on the scoreboard. Easy Express had an equalized attack, scoring a goal in each period to give them the win.

Brookfield Power – 0 vs. Easy Express – 3

Brookfield put in a tremendous effort in the game, it just didn’t reflect on the scoreboard. Easy Express had an equalized attack, scoring a goal in each period to give them the win. Goal scorers were Sarah Fischer (2) and Sarah McCabe. Picking up assists were Kristie Kernaghen (2) and Francine Floreani. Karen Armstrong picked up the shutout.

Ont. Concrete – 1 vs. Crawford’s Canines – 8

Crawford’s cam out strong in the period and just seemed to overpower Ont. Concrete and never stopped. Crawford’s scored once in the first period, five times in the second and twice in the third period. Five different players were able to get on the score sheet. Goal scorers for Crawford’s were Robyn Bourck (3), Marisa Pecile (2), Pam Jurich, Jennifer Mortimore, and Christianne Monico. Picking up assists were Mortimore (2), Pecile and Jessica Lannigan. Ont. Concrete’s highlight came in at the end of the third period with just 8 seconds left, as they were able to break Crawford’s shutout. Scoring for Ont. Concrete was Shelli Ubriaco, assisted by Lori Ballstadt and Suzanne Dunn.

Skip’s Kweok – 0 vs. North to Adventure – 2

The teams came out fighting, as defense was the key in the first two periods, as the game was scoreless going into the third period. North to Adventure scored mid-way through the period to give them the lead. Scoring for North to Adventure was Debbie Desgagne, assisted by Debbie Shubat and Melissa Holder. With only a minute left in the game, Skip’s pulled their goaltender, putting on the extra attacker to try and tie the game. However, a scramble in North to Adventure’s end saw them come up with the puck and they were able to score an empty net goal to secure the win. Scoring the final goal was Debbie Johnston, assisted by Holder and Shelia Madahbee.

White Oak Paint – 1 vs. BDO Dunwoody – 2

This was an action packed game, as the teams had many opportunities to score, but both goaltenders came up with some big saves. Getting on the scoreboard first was BDO, with 5:07 left in the first period. Scoring for BDO was Patti Storozuk, assisted by Julie Hazelton. White oak was eager to tie things up as they scored at 11:05 in the second period. Scoring was Katie Healey, assisted by Rayanne Headrick. The action continued in the third, with BDO scoring the winning goal at 6:02, from Diane Pietrzakowski, assisted by Storozuk and Hazelton.

Fisher-Wavy Concrete – 0 vs. Lafarge – 0

Even though neither team was able to get on the scoreboard, the effort and sportsmanship displayed made this game even more enjoyable to watch. Both goalies, Meredith Agliani (Fisher-Wavy) and Nancy Dewling (Lafarge) played amazing, as one false move could have given the other team the win.
