This weekend fans were treated to some of the best hockey played all season, as there 3 out of the 4 games were within a goal and 1 required overtime to determine a winner. Skip's Kweok – 2 vs.

This weekend fans were treated to some of the best hockey played all season, as there 3 out of the 4 games were within a goal and 1 required overtime to determine a winner.

Skip's Kweok – 2 vs. Country Way – 1

This was the first semifinal in the A division. Skip's started the scoring off early in the first period, when Mona Jones scored at 11:55. Kelly Cudmore and Cheri Sewell picked up an assist each. In the second period, Country Way was able to even things up at one, when Patti Storozuk fired one passed Karen Armstrong. However, it just wasn't meant to be for Country Way, as Skip's scored their second goal with 5 minutes left in the period to win the game. Scoring for Skip's was Julie Hodkinson, assisted by Lynn Mazzonello.

Ont. Concrete – 2 vs. BDO Dunwoody – 5

In the second A division semifinal, BDO got on the scoreboard first, scoring twice in the first period to give them an early lead. Scoring for BDO was Elaine DeRosario and Jennifer Greco. Picking up assists were Kristie Kernaghen, Chrissy Wade, Donna Smith and Sue Ross. In the second period, it was Ont. Concrete's turn to get on the scoreboard, scoring two unanswered goals to tie things up. Goal scorers for Ont. Concrete were Nicole Beauchamp and Amanda Fata. Debbie Beauchamp, Alicia Pollock, and Gerri Miller picked up assists. Going into the third period tied as 2 goals a piece BDO wanted to step things up, scoring three goals to guarantee them the victory. BDO's goals were scored by Greco (2), giving her the hat trick, and Kellie Carter. DeRosario picked up an assist.

A Division Final – Skip's Kweok vs. BDO Dunwoody Sunday April 1 at 6pm – Rhodes 2

White Oak Paint – 5 vs. Source for Sports – 4

This was the first B Division semifinal game. The teams traded goals in the first with White Oak taking an earlier 3-2 lead. Goal scorers for White Oak were Debbie Johnston (2) and Sarah Fischer. Assists went to Linda Benedek, Doreen Shaw, and Michele Irwin. Scoring for Source were Stacy Boville and Tianna Rutland, both unassisted. Source was able to tie the game up at 3 in the second period, when Boville scored her second of the game, unassisted. The teams traded goal again in the third, with White Oak scoring first. Johnston scored her third of the game, giving her a hat trick. Shaw picked up an assist on the goal. Not to be out done, Source's Boville scored her third of the game, giving her a hat trick as well. With the teams tied at 4, and looking for overtime, White Oak's Fischer, was able to score with just 13 seconds left in the game to avoid overtime and give her team the win and a birth into the B final. Benedek picked up her second assist of the game.

Lafarge – 3 vs. B&J Trucking – 2

The first period was a display of great goaltending as both goaltenders came up with key saves to keep things scoreless going into the second period. The beginning of the second period was more of the same, until Rhonda Crozier was able to put one passed Charlie Boisonneau, to give Lafarge a one goal lead. The third period was heart stopping as three goals were scored with less than 4 minutes to go in the game. B&J struck first, to tie the game up at one, thanks to Joanne Pine, unassisted. Lafarge, wasn't' about to give up then, scoring with 2:17 left in the game to take a 2-1 lead. Scoring was Jenn Blahey, assisted by Heidi Frech. With only 20 seconds left in the game, B&J called for a timeout. After the timeout, with the face-off down the Lafarge's end, they pulled their goalie to add an extra attacker. With just 15 seconds left, B&J's timeout paid off, as Heather O'Toole was able to score and send the game into overtime. Deb Nolan and Sheree Wright picked up assists on the goal. In overtime, Lafarge's Christine Robertson was able to score with 3:59 left to give Lafarge the win. Frech picked up her second assist of the game.

B Division semifinal will be held at 5pm at Rhodes 2 between Lafarge and White Oak Paint.
