The 'B' Division Playoff Championship will take on the colours of red and green as Crawford's Canines and Lafarge will play in next Sunday's final.

The 'A' Playoff Final will be a black and blue affair as Source for Sports faces off against Skip's Kweok. Both games will be played at the McMeeken beginning at 4pm.

The league's Year End Party immediately follows the final game at The Cellar Tap.

*** GAME RESULTS: Lafarge – 3 Algoma Insurance – 1

Nancy Dewling couldn't pick a better time to be on top of her game and when you're a goalie it very often means the difference between winning and losing. Dewling held Algoma to just one goal while her teammates scored three to advance to next weekend's 'B' playoff final. It was a sweet victory for Lafarge, a team that squeaked into the eighth and final playoff position with their last two games of the year. After a scoreless first period, the teams traded goals in the second and headed into the final frame knotted at one apiece. Lafarge's Sarah Fischer had a stellar game, scoring the winner with 6:54 remaining and setting up Shelli Ubriaco and Patti Storozuk for Lafarge's other two goals. Storozuk also had an assist on Fischer's game winner. Debbie "Digger" Desgagne was the only Algoma Insurance player to beat Dewling. Penny Glover picked up the only assist. This will be Lafarge's first trip to a playoff final.

Crawford's Canines – 5 White Oak Paint – 1

The Canines didn't take much time to put an end to White Oak's season, scoring four first period goals to build a quick 4-0 lead. With seven regulars out of the line up, White Oak struggled to match Crawford's performance in this game. Pick up player, Lori Swan, was the only one to score on Canines goalie, Jane Crawford. Marg Walsh earned an assist on the play. Five different players scored for "the dawgs". Leslie Bois, Laurie Masters, Heather Coutu, Robyn Bourck and Lisa Rowlinson bulged the twine, while Bourck and Masters added three assists each, Cathy Toni, two assists and Suzanne Dunn, one. It should make for an interesting final next weekend as Crawford's offensive unit takes on Lafarge's "Dewling and the Defence". Lafarge has allowed only four goals in their last three games. The Canines have scored twelve goals in their last three games. This will be Crawford's second crack at the 'B' finals. Last year they were shut out 4-0 by Country Way.

Skip's Kweok – 3 Sports Gold – 2

Skip's Kweok will make an appearance in the 'A' playoff final for the second straight year after narrowly defeating first place Sports Gold 3-2. Skip's Sue Sherrard started and finished the game's scoring, getting her first goal early in the opening period and then snapping a third period 2-2 tie for the win, with just 2:07 remaining. It was a see-saw battle as Sports Gold finally tied the game at 1-1 with 7:01 left to play. Katie Healy scored with Kathy Pinkse and Brianne Greco getting the assists. One minute later, Andrea Jarzombek put Sports Gold up 2-1 with an unassisted marker. Skip's Mona Jones replied with an unassisted goal of her own to even the score and set the stage for Sherrard's heroics. In last year's final, Skip's lost to Algoma Insurance in triple overtime. An unfortunate bounce off the skate of Skip's Mona Jones sent the puck into her own net, giving Algoma the win. No doubt Jones will be ready to make amends in next weekend's final against Source for Sports.

Source for Sports – 2 BDO Dunwoody – 1

Speaking of overtime, that's exactly what Source for Sports needed to knock off second place BDO Dunwoody and move on to next weekend's final. Lisa Venier scored the winner with 4:45 left in double overtime. Jenny Sayers had the only assist. After playing a scoreless first period, Chantal Anderson put Source up 1-0 with an assist from Kellie Carter. BDO's Jen Blahey evened things with 8:12 remaining in the game, sending it to overtime. Venier's OT winner was a short-handed marker. Next weekend's 'A' final should be a dandy. Source and Skip's finished tied in this year's league standings with 28 points each. Skip's scored more goals than Source but Source allowed fewer goals overall. You can't get much closer than these two teams folks. Source's last trip to the finals was two years ago when they emerged as champions. Ironically, Mona Jones was a member of that championship team. See you at Sunday's "black and blue" final at 5pm and the "red/green" final at 4pm!
