Week 12 was packed with lots of action in ten games played at Rankin and McMeeken arenas. With only three weeks left in the regular season, the eighth and final playoff position is still up for grabs.

Week 12 was packed with lots of action in ten games played at Rankin and McMeeken arenas.

With only three weeks left in the regular season, the eighth and final playoff position is still up for grabs.

White Oak Paint, B&J Trucking, Crawford's Canines and Lafarge are battling it out for 6th, 7th and 8th position. Ontario Concrete still has an outside chance of sneaking into 8th spot with five games remaining.

Algoma Insurance – 9 B&J Trucking – 3

Algoma Insurance picked up their eighth win of the season with a 9-3 win over B&J Trucking. Debbie Johnston had seven points with five goals and two assists while teammate Nancy Houle scored once and added 4 assists. Penny Glover scored her first of the season. Pat Baldassarro and pick up player, Jen Blahey, added a goal and an assist each. Theresa Glover had one assist and pick up player, Trish Evans, had two assists. B&J put forth an impressive effort while playing without a goalie. Joanne Pine had three points, scoring twice and setting up Kyla Sewell on a nifty passing play. Rosalee Boissoneau pitched in with one assist for B&J.

BDO Dunwoody – 3 White Oak Paint – 1

White Oak Paint dropped a 3-1 decision to first place BDO Dunwoody. BDO held a 2-0 lead until early in the third period when White Oak's Lisa Case scored to narrow the gap. Julie Laroque and Marg Walsh earned assists on the play. Pam Jurich regained BDO's two goal lead later in the period, scoring with 5:44 remaining to salvage the win. Also scoring for BDO were Laurie Laudadio and Jen Blahey, each with a goal and an assist. Single assists went to Amanda Fata, Amber Lahti and Trish Irvine.

Lafarge – 7 Ontario Concrete – 1

Lafarge got a little help from their friends in a 7-1 bruising over Ontario Concrete. With goalie, Nancy Dewling, and only five regulars in the line-up, Lafarge wisely recruited pick up players for the game. Pick ups, Katie Healey and Sabrina Fischer each scored once. Fischer also added four assists and Healey, one. All of Lafarge's regulars contributed with Patti Storozuk scoring a hattrick and adding one assist. Alicia Pollock had a goal and three assists while Lori Ballstadt added a goal and one assist. Other assists went to Rhonda Crozier (2) and Marg Skulech. Scoring Ontario Concrete's lone goal was Christine Trivers, unassisted.

Source for Sports – 8 Crawford's Canines – 0

Rookie goalie, Amanda Luther, picked up her third shut out of the season as Source for Sports blanked the Canines 8-0. Elaine Derosario, Chantal Anderson and Lisa Venier each scored twice with singles from Donna May Sayers-Lariviere and Kim Chapman. Jenny Sayers had three assists and Lisa Turco pitched in with two assists. Carrie Mancuso, Derosario, Anderson and Venier had one assist each. With the win, Source continues to hold a slight edge over Skip's for third place in the standings.

Sports Gold – 3 Skip's Kweok – 3

With only seven skaters and no goalie, Skip's managed to scratch and claw their way back to a 3-3 tie with Sports Gold at Rankin arena Saturday night. Sports Gold held leads of 2-0 and 3-1 but two goals from Skip's at 10:51 and 9:35 of the third period was enough to steal a point away from Sports Gold. Andrea Jarzombek scored twice and Katie Healey had the other goal for Sports Gold. Lori Swan and Ellen Ford each had one assist. Mona Jones scored twice and Sue Chiblow once for Skip's while Sue Sherrard added one assist.

Sports Gold – 7 Country Way – 2

For the second straight game, Sports Gold played against a team without a goalie. After building a 3-1 lead, Sports Gold jumped ahead 7-1 before Country Way's Patti Lutz finished off the scoring late in the third. Country Way's other goal came from Trish Evans while Francine "Flash" Floreani and Michelle Dillenbeck each picked up an assist. Katie Healey scored a hattrick for Sports Gold and Kathy Pinkse added two goals. Lori Swan and Penny Souliere each added a goal and one assist. Brianne Greco and Ellen Ford had two assists each while Donna Smith and Jean Feagan had single helpers.

BDO Dunwoody – 5 Crawford's Canines – 1

BDO Dunwoody handed the Canines their third straight loss on Sunday. As the Canines struggle to get back on the winning track, the win for BDO keeps them just one point ahead of Sports Gold for first place. BDO still has a game in hand over Sports Gold. Wendy Basawa scored four times and Amanda Fata once, including the winner. Laurie Laudadio had two assists with singles to Jen Blahey, Pam Booth, Pam Jurich and Trish Irvine. Robyn Bourck finally beat BDO goalie, Cat Schryer, with 8:10 remaining in the third, spoiling her shut out.

White Oak Paint – 5 Lafarge – 4

Lafarge pulled off a remarkable comeback against White Oak Paint but fell just one goal shy of a tie in an exciting finish. White Oak looked to be on route to a 5-1 win but the wheels fell off in the final seven minutes as Lafarge rallied for 3 unanswered goals and a 5-4 score. The final two minutes were filled with several chances for Lafarge who had pulled their goalie for an extra attacker. White Oak however, was equally as strong in the late stages to preserve the win. Jen Greco had two goals for White Oak with Julie Laroque, Debbie Beauchamp and Lori "Big Bird" Bonnell scoring one each. Big Bird's goal proved to be the winner. Karen Gartshore pitched in with one assist. Patti Storozuk had a goal for Lafarge while Sarah Fischer, Lori Ballstadt and Alicia Pollock each added one assist. Pick up players also contributed to the comeback. Elaine. Derosario had two goals and Carrie Mancuso, a goal and an assist. Kelly Carter, Donna May Sayers-Lariviere and Kim Chapman each had one assist.

Ontario Concrete – 4 B&J Trucking – 2

Ontario Concrete picked up another win, beating B&J 4-2. Heading into the third period tied at 2 each, Christine Trivers completed a natural hattrick, scoring the winner in the process. Kathy Berdux added an insurance marker with 8:13 remaining. Shannon McLeod, Geri Miller, Kristy Kernaghen and pick up player, Marg Walsh, each had a helper. Deb Nolan scored both B&J goals, with Joanne Pine getting an assist on each one.

Skip's Kweok – 6 Algoma Insurance – 3

Skip's Kweok doubled up on Algoma Insurance 6-3. Mona Jones was on fire, with a hattrick and two assists. Elaine Angelic broke a 3-3 tie with her first of two goals late in the second period. Sue Chiblow padded the lead with a goal midway through the final frame. Chiblow also added two assists with singles to Marg VanLandeghem and Angelic. Algoma's pick up players took care of the scoring in a losing cause. Joanne Pine scored all three goals and Lori Swan had one assist.
