The respective runs for the White Pines Wolverines and Bawating Braves at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Association (OFSAA) championships came to an end on Friday.

At the boys A/AA hockey championships in Timmins, the Wolverines were shutout 2-0 by Embrun High School in their final game of the round robin. The loss dropped White Pines' record to 1-2-1 and three points out of a playoff spot.

In Ottawa at the girls curling championships, the Braves, skipped by Cassie Heppner, split their final two round robin games to finish with a 2-2 record but out of the playoff hunt.

The Braves dropped their first game 10-3 to Hamilton's Sherwood Secondary before finishing the tournament with a 7-4 win over Brockville's St. Mary Catholic High School. The locals grabbed a 5-0 lead through three ends in the victory.

Heppner is joined by Callie Heppner, Heather Robitaille and Amie Romanchuk.
