Windsor back even with Greyhounds

The Windsor Spitfires and Soo Greyhounds are again neck-and-neck for the Ontario Hockey League's west division championship.

The Spitfires used both their games in hand this week to score wins and pull even with the Hounds in the division standings with 90 points.

Each team has two games remaining in the regular season with the Hounds hosting Plymouth on Friday and Saginaw on Saturday while Windsor visits Saginaw on Friday and hosts Kitchener on Sunday.

Should the teams finished tied in the standings, the Greyhounds would get the nod by having more victories than the Spitfires.

On Thursday, Windsor exploded for four goals in the second period and cruised to a 9-5 win over the London Knights. On Tuesday, the Spits beat Plymouth 5-3.

Meanwhile, fourth through eighth place remains up for grabs as just six points separates London (4th) and Saginaw (8th).

London has 78 points followed by Guelph (75), Sarnia (74), Plymouth (73) and Saginaw (72). Plymouth and Saginaw have three games remaining while the others have two.
