A breezy, cool night combined with great racing action to entertain the fans at Kinross Speedpark in week 15 of the 2006 season. The absence of many regular racers due to the Nascar race at Bristol and some late season mechanical problems for others didn't diminish the program at all.

The fastest four Pure Stocks lined up first and John Clawson raced to the lead and the victory. Marko Howland was the victor in the 4 Cylinder Four Car Dash.

The Pure Stock Australian Pursuit saw Barry Glenn coming all the way from the sixth position to battle for the lead with Randy Touchtone. They ran door to door for the last lap with Touchtone winning by a bumper length.

Don Dangler ran out of cars to pass while taking the victory in the 4 Cylinder Australian Pursuit. He started at the back of the field and passed every car in front of him for the win.

The Factory Stocks and Late Models ran together but were scored separately in the first of two heats, as both classes were down on car count. Kevin Jackson drifted up into George Wilson in turn four causing some excitement when both cars made contact. Both drivers made great saves and Wilson was able to get by Jackson and take the victory. Back in the pack, Cecil Piche won the race within a race in his Factory Stock.

Ken VanLuven took his first checkered flag ever at Kinross Speedpark in the first Pure Stock heat. He slipped by Nicole Rader on the backstretch to take the lead. Randy Touchtone finished second, and Randy Miller third.

Barry Glenn led all ten laps in the second Pure Stock heat and took the win. There was great racing back in the pack with John Clawson finishing second, and Mike Babcock third.

The first heat of 4 Cylinders had four wide action in turn one, three wide in turn four, and John Mayer getting pushed off the front stretch and blowing a tire all on the first lap. Kaye Eddington led much of the race before Erica Pietranglo reeled her in and took the lead and the victory. Eric Fountain finished second, with Eddington third.

The second 4 Cylinder heat had Brandy Clawson running fast at the front and receiving a black flag for breaking the 1/4 second rule. John Gardner took the win, with Marko Howland second and Don Dangler third.

George Wilson opted to start behind all of the Late Models and Factory Stocks in the second combined heat. Denny Aho got a great start and big lead but Wilson was able to work his way through the field and take the win. Cecil Piche won for the second time also in his Factory Stock.

The first 25 lap feature again saw the Late Models and Factory Stocks all together on the track. Sam Bohling and George Wilson ran side by side for many laps before Wilson decided it was time to go and took off while building a tremendous lead. Wilson lapped the entire Factory Stock field while cruising to victory in his Late Model. Bohling finished second, and Denny Aho third. Cecil Piche took the win in his Factory Stock with Jared Nightlinger second, and Paul Fox third.

The Pure Stock Feature had several cautions and tight racing throughout the field. Much of the field was pretty even on speed and made for some close racing. Larry Young Jr. worked his way to the front and held on for the win. John Clawson finished second, and Ray Golladay Jr. third.

The final feature of the evening had the six fastest 4 Cylinders starting up front on the tail end of the lead lap. This start was suggested by some of the drivers as a way to close the competition gap within this class. John Mayer made quick work of the cars in front of him and led most of the race. John Gardner and Dean Eggart worked their way through the traffic and were running a distant second and third. Erica Pietrangelo brought out the yellow Mayer didn't want to see when she hit the wall hard on the front straightaway. After the restart, Dean Eggart went to the front and took the win. John Gardner finished second, and Don Dangler third.

Racing action resumes this Friday night. For more information log on to www.kinrossspeedpark.com.
