George Wilson decided the best thing to do on Monday night was collect his own Laird International Raceway bounty.

Having won three of four late model feature races heading into the event, LIR owner Donnie Varcoe placed a $350 bounty on Wilson as a bonus on top of the regular payout for anyone who could beat Wilson in the feature.

Wilson, who had to start from the back, would also collect the bonus if he captured the 25-lap event himself.

With Michael Gold suiting up for the night's program, fans eagerly anticipated a battle between Wilson and Gold.

The fans weren't disappointed as the two found themselves battling for position and the lead midway through the race.

With Gold given a small opportunity to pass Wilson off turn two later in the race, Gold made the attempt but clipped the side of Wilson's car as Wilson came down to close the door forcing Gold to spin out and be tagged to the rear of the field.

With Gold out of the picture, Wilson got a great start off a caution with five laps remaining to hold on for the victory and collect the bonus cash.

The bounty has been extended to Thursday night.

Earlier in the night, Gold captured the four car dash, Rob Sartini captured the first heat race and Jeremy Van Hoek won the second heat.

In the modified division, Jordan Sims had a solid night with a clean sweep of the feature and two heat races while also setting a new track record in qualifying.

In the factory stock division, Steve Kent captured the feature after Dick Wellwood and Mike Murphy captured the heats.

In the stock four class, Gordon Hunt captured the feature while Cody McLean won both heat races.

Action continues on Thursday at LIR with qualifying beginning at 6 p.m. and racing to follow at 7 p.m.
