Another gorgeous evening treated fans to a great night of racing for "Little Caesars Pizza Night" in week 14 at the Kinross Speedpark.

The fastest four Late Models started the racing with fast qualifier Bill Bond taking the lead on the last lap and taking the checkered flag.

Jared Nightlinger led all four laps in the Factory Stock fast four and earned the victory. The Pure Stock fastest four all qualified within seven hundredths of a second of each other and the race was just as close. Larry Young Jr. was able to hold on for the victory. Brandy Clawson survived a three wide first turn in the Four Cylinder Four Car Dash and went on to the win.

The Pure Stock Australian Pursuit had thirteen cars line up single file for thirteen laps of racing. Tony Rankin started up front and held off some furious racing action behind him in taking the win.

The 4 Cylinder Pursuit also had thirteen cars. Don Etcher, starting from the ninth position, ran to the front and finished ahead of the only other remaining non-passed car of John Mayer.

The Late Model heat had Kevin Jackson leading the first lap. Jackson wiggled coming out of turn two and allowed Tim Aho to slip by for the lead. Bill Bond was able to work his way to the front by running the outside line. Kevin Jackson spun back in the field bringing out the yellow flag. After the green-white-checker finish, Bill Bond was in first, George Wilson second, and Tim Aho third.

The Factory Stock heat had many laps of side by side racing with both Mike and Paul Fox battling for the lead. The field stayed close until Cecil Piche went three wide for the lead. He got by the Fox brothers and went on to the win. Paul Fox finished second, and Pee Wee Fountain third.

The first of two Pure Stock heats had many cars making contact down the backstretch on lap one. After a complete restart, Chris Brady took the lead with Barry Glenn moving through the field into second. Brady shot up the track in turn one and tagged Glenn bringing out another yellow. Barry Glenn led the restart and held on for the victory. Nicole Rader finished second, with Mick Pieri third.

The second Pure Stock heat was another great race. There was plenty of racing throughout the field. Ray Golladay Sr. emerged as the winner. Larry Young Jr. finished second and Bill Cryderman third.

The first 4 Cylinder heat had Dale Williams getting a great start and pulling away from the field before being black-flagged for breaking his 1/4 second rule. Kaye Eddington took over the lead and went on to a big victory. Dave Masse finished second, with Daryl Hill third.

The second heat of 4 Cylinders had some very close racing. Dean Eggart and Brandy Clawson eventually broke free from the pack and finished first and second a short distance in front of the field. Don Etcher finished third.

Intermission was very entertaining as Little Caesars sponsored two rounds of "Pizza Races." Participants started from a standing start, ran about fifty feet to their cars, jumped in, buckled up and race around the track stopping at the finish line. They then had to eat a slice of pizza and drink a can of pop before hopping onto a waiting bicycle and completing the last lap with peddle power. John Gardner proved to be a faster biker than his brother Adam in the first heat and took the victory. Chris Brady was very impressive in the second heat with a big victory over Randy Miller. The crowd also helped celebrate Sault Area Racing Associations Secretary Jenn Ware’s birthday by singing her a great rendition of Happy Birthday.

Late Models lined up for their twenty five lap feature and provided lots of excitement for the fans. Sam Bohling got clipped on the backstretch and took a wild ride off the track on the first lap. After a complete restart, Kevin Jackson led lap one, and Tim Aho lap two. With George Wilson on the outside going for the lead, Aho bobbled coming out of turn two and got into Bill Bond bringing out the yellow for debris on the track. After another restart, Aho and Wilson battled side by side before Kevin Jackson spun in turn three bringing out the yellow once again. George Wilson took the lead and was holding off Bill Bond before Wilson’s car slowed and went to the pits with a broken throttle. Bill Bond built a big lead and took his third straight feature win. Tim Aho finished second, and Robert Hiiemaa third.

The Factory Stock Feature saw Jared Nightlinger slip past Paul Fox for the lead. Cecil Piche reeled in Nightlinger and got along side him and battle for the lead. These two cars checked out on the field and put on a great race. Cecil Piche finished first, Jared Nightlinger second, and Paul Fox third.

Cornwell Tools sponsored the Pure Stock feature event and fifteen cars took the green flag. Tony Rankin jumped to an early lead with Barry Glenn moving up to second. Randy Miller was caught four wide in turn three and got pushed off the track bringing out the caution. With Rankin and Glenn still fighting for the lead, Larry Young Jr. dove inside of two cars on the front stretch and blew out a tire when contact was made. Barry Glenn worked his way to the front and took the victory. Billy Cryderman finished second, and Mike Babcock third.

The final feature of the evening had one of the most exciting close calls all night. Dale Williams climbed the wall on the front stretch and put his car on two wheels going down the straightaway. He put the car back on all four tires and didn’t seem to slow down a bit. The race had multiple spins but only one caution for debris. Dean Eggart had a dominating victory in his 4 Cylinder with Adam Gardner second. Brandy Clawson finished third.

Racing action resumes this Friday night. For more information log on to www.kinrossspeedpark.com.
