What was supposed to be a three-game road trip for the Soo Thunderbirds came to an early end on Sunday.

The Thunderbirds were scheduled to wrap up the trip Sunday evening in Noelville against the French River Rapids but bad weather and the closure of Highway 11 due to the weather forced the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League to postpone the game as well as the game between the Timmins Rock and Hearst Lumberjacks in Timmins.

Details regarding when the game will be made up will be announced once finalized.

The Thunderbirds, who picked up a 3-1 win in Powassan on Saturday night, had their game on Friday night in Kirkland Lake suspended in the second period after a Carbon Dioxide leak at the Joe Mavrinac Community Complex in Kirkland Lake. The game was tied at one when the game was suspended and details surrounding how the game will be made up have yet to be announced.
