The former OHL forward has signed a contract with the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies.

Watling spent the 2013-14 season with the OHL’s Soo Greyhounds after being acquired from the Guelph Storm prior to the season.

With the Greyhounds, Watling set career highs in three offensive categories with 18 goals and 36 assists for 54 points. The overage forward added a goal and eight points in nine playoff games.

In 187 career OHL games, Watling had 36 goals and 102 points.

Watling spent two seasons with the Chatham Maroons prior to joining the Storm in the 2010-11 season.
