The Sault Dundee Wealth Management Firestorm came very close to a win over Windsor on Sunday after a long hard fought battle throughout the morning hours at Tom Tipton field.

With Tessa Kasch and Kaitlyn Morin at the Ontario Provincial Championships for track and field and still a huge amount of injuries on the team the Firestorm managed to settle for a tie against Windsor.

Late in the game, Jessica D'Angelo, a pickup player from the U15 Civics, hit the cross bar on a hard kick from just outside the box. The Firestorm kept buzzing the net but were unable to take the lead and the game ended scoreless. Jodie Gillespie recorded the shutout.

On Saturday the Firestorm played Kitchener in another hard fought battle but missing players and injuries plagued the team even with 2 players Stephanie Luciani and Jessica D'Angelo being picked up from the U15 girls and Shannon Mulholland from house league an ex-civics player from past years to fill in the gap.

The Firestorm dominated the first half of the game with shot after shot all around and over the net but were unable to capitalize and score. The injuries and heat took over in the second half and Kitchener managed to put 2 goals in to win the game 2 to 0.
