The Sal-Dan Strickers U-13 boys Civics soccer team, coached by Howard Gray, are participating in the 2007 Alliance FC Spring Invite in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The following are results from Saturday:

Game 1 vs NUSA Fusion - Dayton, Ohio Sal-Dan Stikers (4) - NUSA Fusion (0)

This was the first tournament game that the Civics have played on grass this year, and it proved to be a successful outing. It was a productive first half with the Soo scoring 3 goals against a very aggressive team. The 3 goal deficit spured the Fusion to be very offensive in the second half with goaltending proving to be the deciding factor. Jacob Patterson earned the shutout.

Goals scored by Nicholas Tassone, Matthew Fagan, Corey Conforzi and Marco Florio.

Game 2vs CYS Strikers - Clawson, Michigan Sal-Dan Stikers (7) - CYS Strikers(1)

Offensive pressure was the name of the game today at 11:30am. Even though our first game was at 7:45am the kids were not the least bit tired for their second outing on the pitch. They out ran, out hussled and outscored the CYS Strikers.

Marco Florio led the way with a 4 goal performance. Owen Hillstrom, Nicholas Tassone and Matthew Fagan each added one goal in the victory.

Next game for Sal-Dan Strikers is Sunday at 11:30am and should they be successful, they will participate in the semi-finals at 2:00pm with the finals at 4:30pm.
