U-12 Civic girls open season with two shutouts

The System International U12 Girls Civics team opened the U14 97 outdoor season with two consecutive shutout victories. Monday they overcame a steady rain and a tough Midas Muffler team to win 3-0.

The System International U12 Girls Civics team opened the U14 97 outdoor season with two consecutive shutout victories.

Monday they overcame a steady rain and a tough Midas Muffler team to win 3-0. Danita Caruso, with a pair, and Emily Nicoletta scored for System International while Brooke Bellerose posted the shutout.

Wednesday night saw some of the same relentless attacking displayed the previous game. The U12 Civics raced out to a 4-0 lead against the Vesuvious Canada squad early in the first half and cruised to a 6-0 win.

Hannah Murray, with a pair, Emily Nicoletta, Amy Francella, Tiarra Chartrand, and Sara Nadon provided the scoring while Bellerose posted her second straight shutout.

Strong team defense combined with creative offensive play contributed to a strong start to the season.
