The Soo Bantam Greyhounds took five of a possible six points over the weekend in an early season battle for first place.

In the Northern Ontario Bantam Hockey League regular season series in Sudbury, the Greyhounds opened with a 3-2 win over the Wolves before playing to a 3-3 draw and scoring another 3-2 victory.

In the opener, the Hounds rallied from a 2-0 deficit with two third period goals to send the game into overtime. Jarrett Krancevich scored the OT winner while Tyler Pearse and Colin Miller added the other Soo goals.

Jeff Llyod, Brian Nanne, Brett Findlay, Dylan Connolly and Nicholas Romano scored for the Hounds in the 5-5 draw.

In their second 3-2 win, David Quesnele, Matthew Eddy and Romano, with the third period winner, provided the offense.

The Greyhounds, now with four wins and a three ties on the year, return to NOBHL action with a three-game road trip to Onaping Falls October 14-15.
