Tweens capture Guelph ringette tourney

Sault Ringette Tweens played hard and were rewarded with the gold at the Guelph Ringette Invitational. It was a total team effort throughout the week-end with everyone contributing.

Sault Ringette Tweens played hard and were rewarded with the gold at the Guelph Ringette Invitational.

It was a total team effort throughout the week-end with everyone contributing.

In game 1, the Sault met up with home team Guelph and with everyone contributing won 8-0. Rachelle Graham had the shutout while offensively Riley Jo Linklater had 5 goals while Maggie Kirkwood, Haley Allen and Kylie McAllister added a goal each. Kirkwood and Lorisa Harrington had 2 assists with Lesia Kinach, Allen and Linklater setting up 1 each.

The game 2 match between the Sault and Etobicoke was a rematch from a previous tournament with Etobicoke winning 5-4 in a real nail biter. Linklater had 2 goals, Kinach 1 goal and 1 assist and Kirkwood 1 goal and 2 assists.

Game 3 had the Sault beating Whitby 3-2. Goals came from Linklater, Allen and Kinach with assists to McAllister, Kirkwood and Kinach.

The tween team also won the Skills competition in their division during the week-end.

The final game had the Sault meeting Etobicoke again, however, hard work paid off with a Sault 7-5 Victory. Goal scorers were Linklater (3), Allen (2), Kirkwood and Jessica Sidwell. Assists were recorded by Kinach (2), Kirkwood (2) Linklater and Harrington.

The win was a total team effort and included Kaila Maeumbaed, Chelsea Pace, Jenna Marsh, Christina Meyers & Danielle Brandow.
