Titans finish fourth at Ontario Cup

The Sault Titans major midget basketball team wound up finishing fourth in Division 2 over the weekend at the Ontario Cup tournament in Ottawa. The Sault Titans lost a hard fought battle to the # 3 ranked Ajax Lions 64-47 in the bronze-medal game.

The Sault Titans major midget basketball team wound up finishing fourth in Division 2 over the weekend at the Ontario Cup tournament in Ottawa.

The Sault Titans lost a hard fought battle to the # 3 ranked Ajax Lions 64-47 in the bronze-medal game. Tom Campana scored 20 points and Josh Martella 10.

The round robin games saw the Sault Titans win three straight. They opened the tournament defeating the 12th ranked Waterloo Wild Hawks 47-40. Josh Martella had 18 points and Ethan Campbell scored 12.

Josh Martella exploded in the third game for a game high 34 points in a 66-48 win over the 13th ranked JAMBA, a Toronto team. Tom Campana and Josh Thompson netted eight points each for the Titans.

The Sault Titans, coach by Thomas Cory, defeated the 4th Ranked York Avengers 61-57 behind Josh Martella’s 22 points and 14 from Seth Whitley.

Josh Martella scored 21 and Josh Thompson scored 15 points in a 67-60, quarter-final decision over Osgoode-Rideau the home team.
