The Sault Titan Olympus major bantam girls basketball team put forth a good showing at the Blessed Sacrament Basketball Tournament in Hamilton this past weekend.

The locals picked up a pair of wins, including a bronze medal victory in the B bracket, while losing three times by a combined total of just eight points.

In their opener, Kristine Dovigi dropped a team high seven points to lead the Titan Olympus to a 35-25 win over the East Gwillembury Huskies. Lauren Speakman added six points for the winners and Julia MacDonald five.

The London Flames then knocked off the Titan Olympus 28-23 as Abby Hurd scored 11 points in defeat while MacDonald added four.

In a 35-33 loss to the Newman Youth Cardinals, MacDonald led with nine points while Hurd and Emily McClelland scored six each. Dovigi poured in 13 points as the locals then dropped a tight 37-36 contest to the North Toronto Huskies. McClelland and Hurd chipped in eight points each.

In the bronze medal game on the B side, Speakman's 10 points paced the Sault to a 28-18 win over East Gwillembury. McClelland added six points and Hurd four.
