Canada Can Take a Strangle-Hold on Series Monday Night in Sudbury

Team OHL gave Canada it’s first lead in the six-game across Canada series with a 5-3 victory over Team Russia in the ADT Canada Russia Challenge played in Kitchener last night.

Superstar John Tavares was Team OHL’s player of the game last night and recorded three assists. Both teams battled hard for the series lead as they racked-up over 40 minutes in penalties in Kitchener.

Russian goaltender Stanislav Galimov put on a show in goal for the Russia Selects making 42 saves. Galimov robbed Team Ontario shooters time and time again and was named Russia Selects Player of the Game.

Team Russia will enjoy a few days off as they will be out to even the series Monday night in Sudbury. Game time Monday is 7:00 p.m.

There are over 500 good seats still available for Monday night’s game. Fans can order tickets by credit card by visiting www.greatersudbury.ca or by calling 705-671-3000 during business hours today.

Monday’s game will be a great opportunity for hockey fans to show their Canadian Pride as the game will be televised nationally on Roger’s Sportsnet.

Many NHL scouts will be in attendance at the Sudbury arena Monday night to watch some of the top NHL prospects for next summer’s NHL Entry Draft.
