Thunderbirds grounded by Wolves

The Sudbury Junior Wolves scored early and never looked back in a 3-1 win over the Soo Thunderbirds on Friday night at the John Rhodes Community Centre.

Brenden Biedermann scored just 1:22 into the game for the Wolves while J.F. Houle added another for a 2-0 lead after one period.

Brett Perlini scored the lone Thunderbirds goal while Jessie Howg capped the scoring for Sudbury.

The loss marked the Thunderbirds' fourth in a row and dropped the team under the .500 mark at 16-17-1 for 33 points and a sixth place standing in the seven-team Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Next action for the locals is next Saturday in a rematch against the Wolves at 7:30 p.m. at the Rhodes.
