Four goals by the Sudbury Junior Wolves in the third period erased a one goal Soo Thunderbirds lead and led the Wolves to a 6-4 victory on Friday night at the John Rhodes Community Centre.

Kyle Rodgers, Tyler Lannigan, Tyler Gendron and Adam Kauppi scored for the Thunderbirds while Michael Maulucci took the loss in goal.

Nick Heins led the Wolves attack with three goals while league scoring leader Brian McGarry scored once and set up another. Josh Slobodian scored once and added two helpers while Jesse Graham wrapped up the Sudbury scoring. Matt Chuipka recorded two assists.

Michael Maulucci took the loss in goal while Darren Rowlandson grabbed the win.

The Thunderbirds are back in action on Saturday in Blind River for another contest in the Carmen Provenzano Memorial Cup. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at the Blind River Memorial Community Centre.

The Thunderbirds are back at home at the Rhodes on Sunday at 7 p.m. to take on the Northern Michigan Black Bears.
