The Soo Thunderbirds dropped their third consecutive Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League contest on Saturday night.

Playing their second game of a three games in three nights road trip, the Thunderbirds surrendered two late first goals and couldn't recover in a 3-2 loss to the Abitibi Eskimos.

Tyler Gendron scored an early second period goal for the Thunderbirds to cut the lead in half before notching his second of the night after the Eskimos had taken a 3-1 third period lead.

Dan Dube scored two goals for Abitibi while Russel Morin potted the other.

Matt Conway picked up two assists for the Soo while goaltender Ryan Dube faced 36 shots in the loss and was named third star. The Thunderbirds fired 22 shots at the Eskimos.

The Thunderbirds, who only had 13 skaters listed on the scoresheet, finish the road trip on Sunday night in Sudbury.
