The Laird International Raceway season is nearing completion and the points standings are beginning to open up.

In the Late Model Division on Thursday night, Rick Leonard closed the gap slightly on Michael Gold early on with a second place finish in the fast car dash with Rob Bolduc finishing in top spot. Jeremy Van Hoek and Cory Furkey rounded out the dash in third and fourth, respectively.

The first heat race went to Donnie Varcoe, though Gold managed to get a jump on Leonard with a second place finish. Gold jumped ahead even further when he won the second heat race, holding off Varcoe and Bolduc. Leonard finished the heat race in fifth spot.

The feature race saw little by way of problems although Kevin Jackson was black-flagged midway through after he forced Bolduc off the track on the frontstretch. Gold managed to pick up a bigger points lead after winning the feature. Van Hoek finished in second spot and Varcoe finished third. Leonard finished in fifth spot.

In the Factory Stock Division, Bill See came away with an early win as he beat out John Hamilton and Parker Brockelbank to win heat one. Brockelbank pulled away with the victory in heat two, defeating See and Dick Wellwood.

The 20-lap Factory Stock feature had a $500 purse and Hamilton saved his best for when it was all on the line as he won the feature and the purse money. See and Chris Jones rounded out the top three finishers.

In the Modified Division, Nick Jobst held off Dave Slingsby and Dennis Uhlman for the victory in the first heat race. Slingsby came away with the win in heat two with Uhlman finishing in second and Jobst in third spot. The feature saw Uhlman hold off Jordan Sims and Jobst to take home a first place finish of his own.

The Stock Four Division, which featured a large field of cars for the $200 purse, was split up into four heat races. In the first of the four heat races Dave King held off Donny Mergeart and John Gardener for the win. Cody MacLean beat out Jake Irwin and Jason Herrington to win the second. Tyler Parson came away with the win in the third heat over King. The fourth heat race was won by Tristan Anderson who beat out Herrington and MacLean to win.

The Stock Four's had a change of pace for their feature by going 20 laps in the wrong direction. Cody MacLean held off the field for the victory while Donny Mergeart finished in second and George Haldenby in third.
