The TOURNAMENT Results - Day 1

Day one got off to a great start during The Tournament II. 16 teams out of the 35 teams entered, battled it out at the John Rhodes Community Centre on both Ice Pads, in front of many spectators, including family and friends.

In the Women's Recreation Division HalfACase defeated the Stingers 4-1. Jean Feagan led the way for HalfACase scoring two goals while Penny Glover and Heather Coutu scored one each, Susan Dunn scored the lone goal for the Stingers.

In Women's Competitive SKIPS got by Toyota 3-2 led by Sharon Buehners two goals, and a single from Ellen MacDougall. Wendy Basawa and Kyla Sewell scored one goal a-piece in a losing effort. In the other Women's Competitive game the Orange Peelers scored four goals in the third to beat LUTZ SCOREOS 7-2. Nancy Houle led the way scoring four goals while Carlee Lewis scored two, and Lacey Kastikainen scoring the other. Melissa Holder scored both goals for the SCOREOS.

In the Men's Recreation Division the Canadian Hawks shut out Team Labatt 6-0. Rick Marrelli, Joe Woods, Aaron Mosher, Steve Senecal, Rob Hall, and Dean Hall all scored singles for the Hawks, while Daryl Boston posted the shut-out.

In Men's Competitive Joey Calzones defeated Brody's 6-5. Jeff Greco led the way scoring two goals for Calzones, while Chris Lepore, Shawn Madill, Mike Rose, and Adam Carricato scored singles. Steve Slater, Casey Davieaux, Sean O'Neil, and Kirk Martin scored in a losing cause.

In the other Men's Competitive game Beaver Tail defeated Smack Daddies in a shoot-out. Jeff Mangone scored the shootout winner while Jason Schryer, Mangone, and Chris Thibodeau scored for the winners. Adam Klymchiw, Adam Kauppi, and Rodgers scored for Smacks.

Day 2 Results will be available later today - while Day 3 action begins tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the John Rhodes Rink 1.
