The Soo Thunderbirds opened thier first road trip of the season with a victory in Little Current.

Backed by a two-goal effort from Adam Kauppi, the Thunderbirds defeated the Manitoulin Islanders 4-1 on Friday night for their third straight win in four starts.

The Thunderbirds visit the Abitibi Eskimos on Saturday night before swinging back down to Sudbury for a contest against the Northern Wolves on Sunday night.

Tyler Gendron and Ryan Maunu also scored for the Thunderbirds while Travis O'Brien picked up the win in goal.
