T-Birds fall to Alpena 7-6

The Soo Thunderbirds lost their second game of the pre-season in a penalty filled game, 7-6.

Both teams had difficulty in adjusting to the new tightly called game resulting in a steady stream of players heading to the sin bin.

Coaches Pat Carricato and Dave Watson were generally pleased with the overall effort of the team. They stressed the fact that pre-season is the time for everyone to learn how to adjust to the the new style of play.

The Thunderbirds will be heading to Alpena’s Northern Lights Arena on Friday September 8th for a rematch against the Ice Diggers. Friday’s game has a 7:00 pm start time. ************************************************************
