Still Openings for Algoma University Thunderbird Elite Basketball Camp featuring Dave Smart

Algoma University and George Leach Centre would like to inform you that the Elite Basketball Camp feat. Dave Smart begins Monday, June 29 and there are still openings remaining for last minute registrations.

Dave Smart, the 2009 Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) coach of the year and an assistant coach for Canada's Senior Men's National Team, will be headlining this summer's Algoma University Thunderbird Elite Basketball Camp.

The Algoma camp is designed to teach and improve the basketball skills of players in Grades 5 to 8 and Grades 9 to 12 who desire to take their game to a higher level. In addition to coaching from Smart, participants will receive instruction from Algoma varsity coaches and players.

About Dave Smart

This past season Smart guided the Carleton University Ravens to a record of 24-1. After securing his fifth Ontario University Athletics (OUA) championship, the Ravens went on to win the CIS national championship for the sixth time in seven years.

His OUA/CIS regular and post-season career record is 239-25, for an amazing 92 per cent winning percentage. In addition to his duties at Carleton, the three-time CIS Coach of the Year has served as an assistant coach of Canada's national team.
