Steelers begin NFC season on the road

The Sault Steelers will begin another Northern Football Conference on Saturday night against the Oakville Longhorns.

The Steelers, who are coming off a season where they were one win away from advancing to the championship game, will then visit the expansion Sarnia Imperials in week two.

The team returns for their home opener on Saturday June 17 against the Oshawa Hawkeyes at 7 p.m. at Rocky DiPietro Field.

The following is the complete 2006 schedule:

June 3 @ Oakville June 10 @ Sarnia June 17 vs. Oshawa June 24 vs. Milton July 8 @ North Bay July 15 vs. Sudbury July 22 vs. Toronto Raiders July 29 @ Toronto Maddogs

Aug. 5 - quarterfinal Aug. 12 - semi-final Aug. 19 - final
