Steel City Tournament chair changes hands

SAULT MAJOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION

The Sault Major Hockey Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Cathy Chlebus as incoming chair of the annual Steel City Hockey Tournaments, the Classic, held in November and the International, held in January.

Outgoing Chairs, Jean and Ed Dawson have been heading up these successful tournaments for the past seven years and will be moving on. They are looking forward to spending more time with family and community commitments.

The Sault Major Hockey Association Executive, on behalf of all teams, sponsors, coaches, players and volunteers, extend a sincere thank you and our deepest appreciation to Ed and Jean for a job well done.

Cathy Chlebus’ experience in hockey is extensive, having served on the Executive of the Sault Recreation Hockey Association as well as organizing three Little Pro Hockey Tournaments, the last of which had 97 teams registered.

She has also been involved with the NOHA and attended several annual meetings, being thoroughly familiar with their rules and requirements.

With her experience, energy and community involvement she will be able to enhance the Steel City’s professional record and we at Sault Major Hockey welcome her to our Association.
