Clear skies and comfortable temperatures made for another night of great racing at Kinross Speedpark. Several race cars made their first appearance of the season at the track.

The Pure Stock 4 Car Dash started the evenings racing action. Ray Golladay Sr. led all four laps while taking the victory. The Factory Stock 4 Car Dash saw Josh Ware getting a great start and holding on for the win. Tim Aho ran away with the Late Model Dash. Brandy Clawson was fast again in her pink 4 Cylinder and took the win in the 4 Cylinder Dash.

John Clawson held off Rumblin Randy Miller in the Pure Stock Australian Pursuit. Clawson eliminated the six cars ahead of him in taking the victory. The 4 Cylinder pursuit had similar results. John Gardner came from the fifth starting spot and held off the only car remaining, James Orr, for the victory.

Heat one of the Pure Stock class had some great action and the first caution of the evening. Billy Cryderman and Mike Babcock got together in turn 1 which brought out the yellow flag. After the restart, John Clawson moved into the lead and ran away with the victory. Mick Pieri ran second, and Mike Babcock finished third.

The second Pure Stock heat race had Randy Miller and Ray Golladay Sr. racing door to door the entire race. Miller took the victory over Golladay Sr. with Larry Young Jr. finishing in third.

The Factory Stock heat race had plenty of racing action. Pee Wee Fountain led early with Paul Fox and Cecil Piche right on his bumper. Late in the race Cecil Piche made a great save after getting loose coming out of turn four. Unfortunately, Mike Fox spun when cars checked up which brought out the yellow flag. The restart was a green-white-checker and Paul Fox was the winner. Kevin Johnson finished second with Cecil Piche third.

The Late Model heat race had a spin by Sam Bohling while leading collect four cars in a big wreck on the front straightaway. Bohling, Denny Aho, Kevin Jackson, and Tim Aho all were involved in the crash. Tim Aho was the only one not to return to the race. The "Steel City Outlaw" George Wilson ran to the front and took the victory. Mark Howland finished second, and Denny Aho third.

The first 4 Cylinder heat race had John Gardner taking the victory. Larry Miller finished second, and Ashley Pietrangelo third.

The second 4 Cylinder heat race had some first lap excitement. Brandy Clawson watched her right front tire pass her going into turn three. The wheel came off her car and crashed into the catch fence. She drove off the end of the track which brought out the yellow flag. After a complete restart, Dean Eggart moved his way to the front and took the checkered flag. Adam Gardner was second, and John Mayer third.

The intermission was fun as Kinross Speedpark hosted Power Wheels races. Youngsters brought out their battery operated vehicles and had a chance to race the Kinross quarter mile. Pink Barbie Jeeps, Grave Digger Monster trucks, and Disney Princess Jeeps were popular choices of vehicles with the children. It was a great event that everyone really enjoyed.

The Pure Stock feature had fifteen cars taking to the track. There wasn't any question this was going to be a great race. Randy Miller had his hood fold over his windshield causing some anxious moments. Somehow, he drove to the pits without causing a caution. Billy Cryderman got loose and was bumped by Barry Glenn coming out of turn four.

John Clawson tried to miss the spin and took a wild ride on top of the cement barrier down the front stretch. This blew out some tires and appeared to do some damage to his front end, as his car was never the same. After everything was sorted out, Larry Young Jr. led the field and went on to the victory. Ray Golladay Sr. was second and Barry Glenn third.

It appeared it was going to be "one of those nights" with the Factory Stocks taking to the track for their feature race. Pee Wee Fountain spun in front of the field and took a big hit to his car, ending his nights racing. After several cautions and lots of trading paint, Cecil Piche emerged as the winner. He made a last lap pass on Kevin Johnson for the victory. Paul Fox finished third.

The Late Model Feature had George Wilson leading a field of banged up cars and taking the win. Mark Howland was second with Kevin Jackson third.

The last race of the night was the 4 Cylinder Feature. The race was run caution free and turned out to be a three car race. Dean Eggart held off Brandy Clawson and John Mayer for the win.

Racing action resumes again this Friday at Kinross Speedpark. For more information, log onto www.kinrossspeedpark.com.
