NEWS RELEASE

NORTHERN FOOTBALL CONFERENCE

***********************

The Canadian Senior Men's Football final is set for this coming Saturday, September 24th at Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton.

Kick off is 7:00 p.m. The match up pits the Northern Football Conference Champion Tri City Outlaws versus the Alberta Champion Calgary Wolfpack. The Wolpack are making their fifth consecutive trip to this game and are seeking their second victory. Their only success was in 2003 when they upended the Oakville Longhorns 39-28.

The Outlaws are trying to continue their "cinderella" playoff run as they ended up 6th in the N.F.C. standings and then proceeded to upset the Oakville Longhorns, Sault Ste. Marie Steelers and 2004 National Champion Milton Marauders on their way to their first ever N.F.C. crown. Preceeding the National game at 3:00 p.m., will be the first ever N.F.C. All Star game.

This game matches the North, consisting of players from the Markham Raiders, North Bay Bulldogs, Oshawa Hawkeyes, Sault Steelers and Sudbury Spartans versus the South represented by players from the Milton Marauders, Oakville Longhorns, Quinte Limestone Panthers and Toronto Maddogs.

The majority of players selected are those who were cited as first or second team all stars from the 2005 season.
