Stage is set for Canadian football championship

The C.M.F.L. final is set as it will be something old versus something new on Saturday September 24th at Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton.

The Calgary Wolfpack, by virtue of their 42-28 victory over the Edmonton Stallions in the Alberta Championship this past Saturday, have qualified for their fifth consecutive trip to the National title tilt.

The upstart Tri City Outlaws will look to continue their cinderella playoff run as they became the lowest seed (6th) ever to take their first ever Northern Football Conference title 13-9 over the Milton Marauders on August 20th.

The teams will be vying for the Sid Forster Memorial Trophy. This is in honour of the long time Sudbury Spartans bench boss who passed away in 1994 and was also honoured with enshrinement into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 2001.

It is also expected that preceding the National title game, will be an N.F.C. All Star game slated for 3:00 p.m. at Ivor Wynne stadium as well. Details for this contest are still in the planning phase.
