The St. Mary's Knights senior girls basketball team received fourth place medals at the Ontario Federation of Schools Athletic Association (OFSSA) 'AA' Basketball Championships.

In Prescott, the Knights played Ingersoll of London in the bronze medal game and were defeated 57-39. Kathleen Thorburn led St. Mary's with 15 points.

Coach Dave Zagordo notes that the Knights had a fantastic weekend competing in 'AA' action and made SMC girls basketball history by being the only team to ever advance to semi-final action.

The Knights lost to Parkside of Dundas in the semi-final match up 50-45 earlier on Saturday to fall into the bronze medal matchup.

Brittany Denneny led the team with 10 points. Stephanie Colizza added nine points and Thorburn contributed eight.
