St. Joseph wins CASS hoops title

In the finals of the eight team full court tournament held at CASS , St. Joseph Island Public School defeated Echo Bay Public School 32 - 24.

Solomon Henderson with 8 points and Andrew Bin with 6 lead the Stringers while Logan Jones had 14 for the Eagles.

In semi-final play, St. Joseph Island defeated Thessalon 42 - 22 behind the 12 point efforts of Spencer Cain and Solomon Henderson. Rob Gallinger also had 10 points for the Island. Andrew McLean with 11 points and Skylar Sampson with 9 were top scorers for Thessalon.

In the other semi-final game, Echo Bay defeated Esten Park of Elliot Lake 37 -32. Logan Jones had 14 points while Tom Schmidt added 8 for Echo Bay. Steve Blanchette and Jon Pilatzke had 9 and 7 points, respectively, for Esten Park.

Other participating teams were Rosedale P.S. of Sault Ste. Marie, Laird Public School, Johnson Tarbutt Public School and Arthur Henderson Public School.
