Soo Indians continue winning ways Make that four straight wins for the Soo Indians to start the '06-07 Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League season. The Indians improved to 4-0 with two more weekend wins at Big Bear Arena, edging the defending champion Sudbury Northern Jr. Wolves 6-5 in overtime on Saturday before nipping the Blind River Beavers 2-1 on Sunday. Joe Larson was the hero of Saturday's win when he scored in the first minute of the OT session. Defenceman Sean Reid also had a big game for the Indians, scoring twice and adding two assists while Michigan Soo product J.D. King added a pair of helpers for the Indians, who outshot Sudbury 47-22. On Sunday, the Indians trailed 1-0 in the third period when Nick Zilka tied it on a power play at 9:28 and Sean Farley won it shortly after at 10:06. The goal for Zilka was his second of the season and was punctuated by the fact that it came against his former Blind River team. The Indians outshot the Beavers 39-32 and goalie Elliot Hogue continued his stellar play in the Soo net. In two starts, Hogue is 2-0 with a 1.50 goals-against-average and .957 save percentage, having stopped 67 of 70 shots. Coming up, the Indians play their first road game of the season on Friday at Manitoulin before returning home to play Abitibi on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Big Bear Arena. Admission for all Indians' games is just $5, which is the lowest ticket price in the NOJHL.
