Sir James Dunn takes championship series lead

The Sir James Dunn Eagles have taken a 1-0 lead in the High School Hockey League city championship series after a victory over the St. Basil Saints on Sunday night.

At the Steelback Centre, SJD received goals from six different players in a 6-4 win over the Saints.

Steve Stadnik, Thomas Stewart, Adam Mowery, Domenic Albidone, Elvis Ruck and Dalton Thibodeau scored for the Eagles while Jesse Butorac, Steve Pandzik, Izaak Wickstrom and Luke Ruicci replied for St. Basil.

The Eagles can wrap up the best-of-three championship series on Thursday night at the Steelback Centre as game two begins at 7:30 p.m.
