Sharks finish second at Mississauga hoops tourney

The Sault Sharks Major Midget girls basketball team finished second at AA tournament in Mississauga last weekend. In the championship game, the Sharks fell 55-41 to Brampton.

The Sault Sharks Major Midget girls basketball team finished second at AA tournament in Mississauga last weekend.

In the championship game, the Sharks fell 55-41 to Brampton. Katie Babcock and Jessica Bauer scored eight points each to lead the locals.

The Sharks opened the tournament with wins over the Mississauga Monarchs 47-40 and the Guelph CYO Knights 39-26 before falling 43-33 to the Brampton Blue Devils.

Babcock led with 12 points in the win over Mississauga while Bauer scored 10 and Ali Wytsma added six against Guelph. Kelsey Foster scored seven points, Bauer six and Katie Huckson six in the first loss to Brampton.
