Shamrock skaters record top finishes

Members of the Shamrock Figure Skating Club faired well in the opening of their season at recent competitions.

Jana Longo captured the silver medal in Juvenile Ladies by finishing 2nd overall at the Octoberfest Competition in Barrie, Ontario this past weekend. Brianne Elgie placed 2nd in the Pre-Novice Ladies Freeskate and 6th in the Short Program to finish .20 off the Bronze Medal. Darcy Lillie finished 12th overall in the Novice Men Division.

At the recent Fall Festival in St. Thomas, Ontario Longo and Samantha Heggart topped the field with 4th place finishes in Juvenile and Pre-Preliminary Categories.

Longo also finished 5th in Pre-Novice Flight 3. Elgie was 8th in Pre-Novice Flight 2 and Kassidy Bailey was 10th in Pre-Novce Flight 1. Blair Headrick and Cameron Smith were 7th & 8th in Pre-Preliminary. Alanna Johnson finished 8th in Novice Ladies and Brooke Jarrell finished 13th in the Junior Ladies Division.

The Northern Ontario Section Championships will be held at the Steelback Centre on October 27th, 28th.
