*** NORMAN BRADLEY REMAINS ATOP LEADERBOARD AT CANADIAN CLUB CHAMPIONS CHAMPIONSHIP

Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario – Norman Bradley of Kelowna, B.C. shot a second-round 76 at Crimson Ridge Golf Club to retain the clubhouse lead at the 2005 Canadian Club Champions Championship, conducted by the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA).

Bradley, representing Kelowna Golf and Country Club shot an opening-round 70 but struggled to get on track Wednesday. The 47-year old challenged himself to keep his composure and battled back on the final few holes for a two-day total of 146 and a two-stroke lead.

“I couldn’t really get things going on the front and then to make it worse, I completely whiffed on one from the rough,” said Bradley looking for his first Canadian Club Champions title after previously competing in the 1988 championship at Redwood Meadows Golf Club in Calgary. “I just told myself to be patient and wait for my swing to come around. I can’t really appreciate that the field is chasing a 47-year old out here but I’m proud of myself for grinding it out and am excited to see how I handle things tomorrow.”

Jeff Ferguson of the Brockville Country Club shot a one-under 71 to sit alone in second at 148 while Kevin Bryce of the Lake Joseph Club, Trevor Meding of the Innisfail Golf Club and James Chan of the Beverly Golf and Country Club in Ancaster, Ont. are tied for third at 149.

Victor Ciesielski of the Galt Country Club in Cambridge, Ont. had the round of the day shooting a course-record 68 at Crimson Ridge to vault into a tie for 8th at 152.

Robert Patterson of Heron Point Golf Links in Burlington, Ont. sent a roar through Crimson with an ace on par-three 17th en route to a round of 74. Patterson used a 9-iron from 153 yards in recording his second career hole-in-one.

Sault Ste. Marie native Frank Kucher of the Sault Ste. Marie Golf Club continues to be the top local shooting a second-round 78 to sit tied for 45th. Greg McLellan, representing Crimson Ridge, shot 90 for a two day total of 183 and 100th position.

Crimson Ridge continues to prove a stiff test for Canada’s club champions as only four of 106 competitors shot even-par or better under ideal conditions at the scenic Northern Ontario layout.

VICTOR CIESIELSKI ESTABLISHES NEW COURSE RECORD AT CRIMSON RIDGE

Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario (June 22, 2005) Victor Ciesielski of Cambridge, Ontario took advantage of an early tee-time on Wednesday as he fired a 4 under par 68, a new course record at Crimson Ridge.

His round on Wednesday included five birdies and a bogey including four straight birdies to start off the back nine. After the round Ciesielski had nothing but praise for the 6,800 yard Crimson Ridge Golf Club.

“This is one of the most unique and challenging golf courses I have ever played”, stated Ciesielski. “The difference in my scores emphasizes the strength of the course. Play well and you will get rewarded, lose focus and it could be a long day.”
