Searchmont ski team celebrates stellar weekend

Some local downhill skiers had a successful weekend.

The Searchmont Ski Runners participated in the Antoine Classic at Antoine Mountain, medaling in every entered race but one during the three-day event.

In total the athletes brought home six gold, 13 silver and five bronze medals. In addition, U12 women’s racers Kassie Real, Leona Orlando, and Beatrice Filice swept the podium for the second time this season.

This weekend, the U8 – U12 racers head to Elliot Lake for the Joe Sarich Classic hosted at Mount Dufour on March 2 and 3.
