Searchmont Ski Runners announce award winners

The Searchmont Ski Runners wrapped up their 2004--2005 season this past weekend with their annual awards banquet. In the Kinder-2 Division for 13 and 14 year olds top skier trophies went to Jack Zinzer, from the Michigan Sault, and Meghan DiAngelo.

The Searchmont Ski Runners wrapped up their 2004--2005 season this past weekend with their annual awards banquet.

In the Kinder-2 Division for 13 and 14 year olds top skier trophies went to Jack Zinzer, from the Michigan Sault, and Meghan DiAngelo. Both skiers participated in the Ontario and Canadian Juvenile Ski Championships.

Most improved on the men's side was Graeme Hutchison while Pam Day was voted most improved female. The Coach's Choice Award went to Alex Moser, a Sudbury native. Jillian Keast, who also hails from Sudbury, was voted Most Sportspersonlike.

In the Kinder-1 Division for 11 and 12 year olds Iain Hutchison won the top male award while Nicole Gignac captured the top female honours. Hutchison and Gignac competed at the Ontario K1 championships in Thunder Bay. Gignac won two bronze medals.

Voted most improved were Jordan Dugas and Meaghan Horbatuk.

In the Nancy Greene League the top male in the E-2 Class (10 to 14yrs) was Kieran Fitzpatrick. Rachelle Gignac won the top female trophy.

Most Improved honours went to Graham Pavelich and Nicole Foster. Kathryn Willet won the Coach's Choice Award.
