The Ontario Cup Coming To Sault Ste. Marie

Girl's Under 15 Midget Division Ontario Basketball Championships

Titan Basketball and Tourism Sault Ste Marie are pleased to host the first of two ONTARIO CUPS April 27-29 here in Sault Ste Marie.

The ONTARIO CUP is the sanctioned Provincial Championships of the Ontario Basketball Association (OBA) and Titan Basketball is the registered Sault Ste Marie club teams that compete within the OBA.

40 teams will visit Sault Ste Marie next weekend from around the province to compete for the title. The games will take place at various high school gyms and Algoma University throughout the 3 day tournament which will feature the province’s best female basketball players under the age of 15.

The event is the first of two Championships awarded to the Sault by the Ontario Basketball Association last fall. The second event will be the Boy’s Under 17 Juvenile Championships May 17-20 which will feature up to 90 teams of Ontario's top male basketball athletes.

Thomas Cory, the head of the Titan Basketball Club, has been instrumental in securing both championships and the involvement of Tourism Sault Ste Marie was critical in terms of the bid applications and their commitment to bringing major provincial and national sporting events to Sault Ste. Marie.

We invite all basketball fans and the entire Sault community to come out and experience some of the best basketball in Ontario.
