Sault Ste. Marie native Colin Miller has been traded.

The 26-year-old defenceman was dealt on Friday by the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights to the Buffalo Sabres for a pair of draft picks.

Miller, who was selected by the Golden Knights in the 2017 expansion draft and completed his second season with the club in 2018-19, had three goals and 29 points in 65 games with Vegas before adding three points in six playoff games this year.

During the Golden Knights run to the Stanley Cup final in 2017-18, Miller set career highs with 10 goals and 41 points in 82 regular season games.

Miller signed a four-year, $15.5 million contract last summer with Vegas.

In return for the Sault product, Vegas receives a second round pick in the 2021 NHL draft and a fifth round pick in the 2022 draft.
