Sault Minor Football week one results

A Neil Shaule pass to Jordan Tomasone with three minutes left to play proved to be the winner as MemberCARE Rhino's kicked off the 2005 Sault Minor Football Association season with an exciting 22-21 victory over the Resolution Raiders in myte division action.

In all, Tomasone scored three touchdowns while Thomas Pratt had two majors and Andrew Dale also scored in a losing cause. Rhino's Neil Shaule who threw the winning touchdown was named the game MVP.

In the division's other game, it was the David Toppan show as the youngster scampered for three touchdown runs in JMC's 21 –15 victory over Lop Lop's. Aiden MacLeod and Matthew Mitchell scored for Lop Lop's. JMC's David Toppan was named the game MVP.

In the tyke division, Patrick Watling returned to the SMFA after a one-year hiatus and led his team to victory 32-20 over Romes by running for two touchdowns. Other scores came from Patrick McGrath on a kick-off return, Jake Wright and Jerret Semzyszyn. Rhys Mahler had two touchdowns in a losing cause for Romes. Patrick McGrath of Joey Calzone's was named the game MVP.

In the division's second game, a four touchdown performance by Matthew Fitton powered G-P Flakeboard to a 32--20 win over the Tin Grins. Anthony Butorac also scored for the winners while Greg Gagnon had all three touchdowns for Tin Grins.

In the bantam division, Scholars Education Centre topped the Firefighters 12--8 as Taylor Zelewski and Bryan Greco scored for the winners. Michael Paluzzi had the touchdown for the Firefighters.

In another game, David Quesnele scored two touchdowns to lead Aurora's Westside to a 12--7 win over Brody's Sports Bar & Grill. Todd Wagner scored a major for Brody's.
